The problem with AI, is that so far, we don't have AI that can generate the whole book all at once, readily available. So we have to generate parts and then assemble those parts.

AI helps the writing process by - generating ideas, outlines, and summaries. However, the text they help you with has to remain fairly small in comparison to a large book. So the idea is to get AI to help you with the many small steps of a book.

AI's good with Planning and Organizing. So let the AI do what it does best. It will plan and organize your book by generating several outlines with summaries. Once you sign off on all of that, the essays and transitions can be written - and you know it will turn out good. You can look over what it gave you, and see if you feel ready to publish it, or if you want to edit it first.

The Strategy We Use: "Outline-Summary Method" (OSM)

At CreateBooks, we use the "outline-summary method". One point to note is: we write only non-fiction currently (the transition to non-fiction will be soon however). The input you provide is: the current Book Title, Subtitle, and other book information, like the tone it's written in, or any book, or writer you like the style of.

We ask the AI to generate an outline with main points of the book - with small summaries. The first being - at least a paragraph about why someone would want to know this - how it benefits them. We take an initial outline/summaries from the AI and generate other outlines/summaries for each chapter. We then take the whole group of outlines/summaries and finally generate essays for each main point. At the end, we add transition sentences between each generated essay. The result is a complete book.

A book's brief: Which genre should the book be written? novel, fairy-tale or non-fiction. What is your target group? Teenagers, Children 5-12, Adults, etc.

The overall tone or tonality: POSITIVE, EXCITED, POWERFUL, WITTY, CALM, URGENT, GENTLE, POLITE, ENCOURAGING, FORMAL, CASUAL. The writing style can change - You can specify to use the writing style of a popular book or popular author who is successful

We use ChatGPT to generate content in small chunks, and we make adjustments until we're happy.

We use the generated content to help create an outline and structure that we like. We also can use it for providing inspiration for social media posts - to build excitement during the writing phase.
